Studies on the protective effect of dietary fish oil on cisplatin induced nephrotoxicity in rats

► Diets are garnering more attention to modulate the therapeutic index of drugs. ► Cisplatin is a major antineoplastic drug for the treatment of solid tumors. ► Dose dependent nephrotoxicity remains the major concern for its long term use. ► Study aims to explore the protection offered by fish oil (FO) rich in ω-3-fatty acids. ► We propose that FO may maximize the clinical use of CP in the treatment of cancer.
