Lonicera japonica THUNB. protects 6-hydroxydopamine-induced neurotoxicity by inhibiting activation of MAPKs, PI3K/Akt, and NF-κB in SH-SY5Y cells

► LJ provided protection of SH-SY5Y cells from the cytotoxicity induced by 6-OHDA. ► LJ inhibited 6-OHDA-induced mitochondria membrane dysfunction in SH-SY5Y cells. ► LJ protected 6-OHDA-induced the activation of MAPKs, PI3K/Akt, and NF-κB. ► LJ is a possible candidate that can target oxidative stress associated with PD.
