Inhibitory effect of grapefruit juice on the genotoxicity induced by hydrogen peroxide in human lymphocytes

► Antigenotoxicity of grapefruit juice (GJ) was studied in an unreported model. ► In human lymphocytes GJ protected against the damage induced by hydrogen peroxide. ► Prevention of DNA damage and oxidized DNA was determined. ► Induction of DNA repair and modulation of necrosis/apoptosis was also observed. ► The study suggest that GJ act though various mechanism of action.
