A 13-week subchronic toxicity study of hinokitiol administered in the diet to F344 rats

► A 13-week dietary toxicity study of hinokitiol is performed for re-evaluation. ► The no-observed-adverse-effect level for male and female F344 rats is 12.7 and 14.8 mg/kg b.w./day, respectively. ► Myocarditis observed in previous studies is not evident.
