- Goldenhar syndrome is a rare congenital disorder.
- Anesthesia in Goldenhar syndrome is challenging due to craniofacial abnormalities.
- Conduction of a C-section in Goldenhar syndrome is described.
- We describe the use of a TAP block for postoperative pain in a complicated patient.
Goldenhar syndrome [GS] is a rare congenital disorder characterized by multiple craniofacial abnormalities like micrognathia and mandibular hypoplasia, in addition to involvement of multiple other systems. Anesthetic management of a patient with Goldenhar syndrome involves a multi-disciplinary approach. We present a case of a 42-year-old pregnant woman suffering from GS and we discuss the perioperative management and the multidisciplinary approach. The patient underwent a planned cesarean section due to her small stature, large fetus, and GS.
