Functional capability of IL-15-Akt signaling in the denervated muscle

► Muscle denervation initiated two events, rapid IL-1β-ERK1/2 and later IL-15-Akt. ► IL-15-Akt promoted muscle-T cell interaction via CD2-CD48 adhesion. ► IL-15-Akt could control IL-1β signaling via miR155/TAB2. ► IL-15-Akt prevented muscle cell damage via restricting IL-1β inflammatory response.
