Serum levels of Th17 associated cytokines in chronic hepatitis C virus infection

► A decrease in the IL-I7F/IL-22 ratio is observed in chronic hepatitis C. ► IL-17F serum levels are increased in HCV patients with high ALT levels. ► Serum IL-6 levels are associated with liver necroinflammatory activity. ► Interleukin-8 is apparently involved in the control of hepatitis C virus infection.
