Effect of vitamin D3 on chemokine expression in pulmonary tuberculosis

► Vitamin D3 suppressed CFA antigen induced MCP-1 expression in healthy controls. ► Vitamin D3 showed no effect on MIP-1α, MIP-1β and RANTES in healthy controls and PTB. ► Vitamin D3 suppressed the IP-10 mRNA and protein expression in both the study groups. ► Suppressive effect of vitamin D3 was observed with MIG expression in healthy controls. ► The suppressive effect of vitamin D3 is prominent in CXC chemokines than CC chemokines.
