Effects of captopril and angiotensin II receptor blockers (AT1, AT2) on myocardial ischemia-reperfusion induced infarct size

► Captopril and losartan showed beneficial effects against MI/R-induced cardiac injury. ► Our cardioprotective findings were confirmed by TTC staining method and hemodynamic parameters. ► The cardioprotective mechanism was discussed in the view of angiotensin receptors (AT1 and AT2). ► AT2 receptor agonists could be a function for prevention from MI/R injury.
