Selenocysteine biosynthesis and insertion machinery in Naegleria gruberi

Naegleria gruberi cells, shown in the left, express the genes for the selenocysteine synthesis pathway. One thioredoxin reductase (TR3) homologue was identified as a potential selenoprotein.
