Characterization of the 41Â kDa allergen Asp v 13, a subtilisin-like serine protease from Aspergillus versicolor

► We characterized a new allergen, Asp v 13, from Aspergillus versicolor which is common on mouldy building materials. ► The sequence was determined by degenerate primer based PCR, inverse-PCR and RT-PCR. ► Recombinant Asp v 13 was then over-expressed and characterized. ► Asp v 13 IgE and IgG binding epitopes are reported.
