Identification and characterization of five transcription factors that are associated with evolutionarily conserved immune signaling pathways in the schistosome-transmitting snail Biomphalaria glabrata

► Five transcription factors are first identified from the snail Biomphalaria glabrata. ► They are designated BgRelish, BgRel, BgSTAT1, BgSTAT2 and BgCREB. ► Relish is first reported in Lophotrochozoa, one of three superphyla in Metazoa. ► A possible anti-schistosomal role of the transcription factor associated pathways is suggested.
