Isolation and characterisation of Ebolavirus-specific recombinant antibody fragments from murine and shark immune libraries

► Robust reagents are required for sensitive, specific detection of Ebolavirus. ► Recombinant reagents have been derived from murine and shark antibody libraries. ► Murine scFv has specificity to Zaire ebolavirus viral matrix protein VP40. ► NP-specific IgNAR V reacted with Zaire ebolavirus, Reston ebolavirus, Sudan ebolavirus and Bundibugyo ebolavirus. ► IgNAR V was more resistant to thermal denaturation than murine scFv and IgG.
