Phylogenetic footprints of an Antarctic radiation: The Trematominae (Notothenioidei, Teleostei)

► A 5-genes phylogeny of Trematominae is presented. ► We sequenced two new nuclear markers (HECW and SSRP) never used before. ► Incomplete lineage sorting is the best interpretation to explain the incongruence founded. ► We evaluate the relative ages of each clade within the Trematominae. ► Trematominae (except T. scotti) have undergone a rapid and sudden diversification.
