Podoplanin-positive CAFs were the most powerful independent risk factor for recurrence in patients with stage I lung adenocarcinoma. Podoplanin-positive CAFs may be useful for identifying patients with a high risk of recurrence who might benefit from adjuvant chemotherapy.
