Characterization of Silver/Bovine Serum Albumin (Ag/BSA) nanoparticles structure: Morphological, compositional, and interaction studies

► Ag/BSA nanoparticles were formed by chemical reduction of AgNO3 and BSA mixture. ► The role of BSA was to stabilize the nanoparticles as established by UV-Vis. ► Based on AAS and TGA data, molar ratio of Ag to BSA in the nanoparticles is 27:1. ► TEM images shows two distinct phases in Ag/BSA nanoparticles. ► XPS confirmed that outer and inner region is rich in BSA and silver, respectively.
