Dual-responsive poly(styrene-alt-maleic acid)-graft-poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide) micelles as switchable emulsifiers

► A novel pH- and temperature-responsive grafted polymer PSMA-g-PNIPAm was synthesised. ► Structurally controllable PSMA-g-PNIPAm micelles were prepared through self-assembly. ► The polymeric micelles can be used as model polymeric particulate emulsifiers. ► A structural transition plays an important role in the emulsifying performance of these micelles.
