Optically switchable organic hollow nanocapsules

The strong photoswitchable fluorescence of the poly(methyl methacrylate-methacrylated spiropyran) nanocapsules can be reversibly switched between “on” and “off” by alternating irradiation of ultraviolet (365 nm) and visible light (>450 nm).
