Polyelectrolyte-assisted synthesis of polystyrene microspheres by dispersion polymerization and the subsequent formation of silica shell

Polystyrene microspheres were synthesized via dispersion polymerization using a cationic polyelectrolyte, polyethyleneimine as a steric stabilizer, and the as-prepared microspheres were used for the formation of a silica shell.
