A novel high electrode count spike recording array using an 81,920 pixel transimpedance amplifier-based imaging chip

► We present a novel design of an 81,000 electrode picocurrent imaging array. ► Each pixel contains a dedicated low noise transimpedance amplifier. ► We recorded extracellular biocurrents of rabbit retinal ganglion cell spikes. ► Data was recorded at sampling rates up to 7.2 kHz.
