Neural expression of the transcription factor THAP1 during development in rat

► The neural expression patterns of Thap1 transcript and THAP1 protein were examined in rats. ► Thap1 transcript and THAP1 protein are expressed in the brain, spinal cord and dorsal root ganglia. ► THAP1 expression was highest in early development, particularly in the cerebellum at Postnatal Day 7. ► THAP1 immunoreactivity was detected in both the nuclear and cytoplasmic compartments of neurons.
