Cold atmospheric gas plasma disinfection of chicken meat and chicken skin contaminated with Listeria innocua

► An atmospheric gas plasma was used to decontaminate chicken muscle and chicken skin. ► 3 log reductions in L. innocua were achieved for muscle after 4 min treatment. ► 1 log reduction L. innocua was achieved for skin after 8 min treatment. ► Atmospheric gas plasmas have potential for commercial meat decontamination.
