Characterization of Lactobacillus isolates from fermented olives and their bacteriocin gene profiles

► One hundred LAB isolates from table olives were typified by means of GTG5 rep-PCR. ► Their bacteriocin gene profile showed independent niche specificity. ► All isolates possess similar bacteriocin genes disregarding the species.
