Ecology of water mite assemblages in Panama - First data on water mites (Acari, Hydrachnidia) as bioindicators in the assessment of biological integrity of neotropical streams

Our data show, that water mites, identified to genus level, are well suited for water quality assessment in neotropical lowland streams, clearly distinguishing different levels of contamination/anthropogenic stress.
