Effect of the CO2-pressure on the hydrosilylation of CO2 catalyzed by [Ir(NSiN)] species
چکیده انگلیسی

• The activity of [Ir(H)(CF3SO3)(NSiN)(coe)] (NSiN = bis(pyridine-2-yloxy)methylsilyl, coe = cyclooctene) as catalyst precursor for the solvent-free and selective hydrosilylation of CO2 depends on both reaction parameters the temperature and the CO2-pressure.
• The CO2-pressure has proven to be a decisive parameter for the selectivity of this [Ir(NSiN)] catalyzed CO2 hydrosilylation process.
• The reaction performance of the [Ir(NSiN)] catalyzed CO2 hydrosilylation depends strongly on the temperature while the CO2-pressure exerts a less pronounced effect on the catalytic activity.

The iridium(III) complex [Ir(H)(CF3SO3)(NSiN)(coe)] (NSiN = bis(pyridine-2-yloxy)methylsilyl, coe = cyclooctene) has demonstrated to be an active catalyst for the solvent-free and selective hydrosilylation of CO2 with HSiMe(OSiMe3)2 to afford the corresponding silyl formate, namely HC(O)OSiMe(OSiMe3)2. The activity of this catalytic system depends on both parameters the reaction temperature and the CO2-pressure. This work includes a kinetic study at variable temperature (from 25 °C to 75 °C) and pressure (from 1 bar to 8 bar) together with a kinetic modeling of this catalytic reaction. The best catalytic performances have been achieved at 75 °C and 8 bar of CO2.
