Campus quarantine (Fengxiao) for curbing emergent infectious diseases: Lessons from mitigating A/H1N1 in Xi'an, China

► We formulate and analyze a model for curbing the outbreak in major cities of China. ► We estimated the reproduction number using the initial laboratory-confirmed cases. ► The population mobility and Fengxiao strategy combined is a key factor for new wave. ► Fengxiao can provide an effective prevention and control of the emerging disease.
