Positive effect of Cry1Ab-expressing Bt maize on the development and reproduction of the predator Orius majusculus under laboratory conditions

► We evaluated the effect of Bt plant material on the performance of O. majusculus. ► Ingestion of Bt toxin has no negative effects on the predator. ► We observed an increase on female fecundity. ► Nymphal developmental time was shortened on Bt pollen diets without prey. ► Time to adulthood was also reduced in a tritrophic essay with Bt maize-fed T. urticae.
