The response of a southern strain of Orius majusculus (Reuter) (Hemiptera: Anthocoridae) to photoperiod and light intensity: Biological effects and diapause induction

► Orius majusculus from Antalya enters reproductive diapause at short-day. ► The critical day-length is between 11.5 and 12 h at 26 °C. ► Its diapause can be prevented by supplementary lighting. ► Diapause is averted under a supplementary light of as low as 10 lux. ► Low light intensity has little or no effects on its biological traits.
