Genetic variability of maize stover quality and the potential for genetic improvement of fodder value

► 335 maize varieties were evaluated in Ethiopia and Tanzania. ► Genotypic variability for stover fodder quality, grain and stover yields and their interrelationship. ► We observed significance difference for most traits in almost all trials. ► In most cases, we observed desirable relationship among traits. ► The study suggested the possibility for simultaneous improvement of grain yield and stover traits.
