The complete genome sequence of a single-stranded RNA virus from the tarnished plant bug, Lygus lineolaris (Palisot de Beauvois)

► Lygus lineolaris virus 1 (LyLV-1) is a positive-sense single-stranded RNA virus. ► Genomic polypeptide was 44.4% similar to that of sacbrood virus of the honey bee. ► Genome organization resembles that of the viruses in genus Iflavirus. ► Virus replication was detected in the fat body tissues of L. lineolaris. ► LyLV-1 is 39 nm in diameter and exhibits transovarial transmission.
