Improving UV resistance and virulence of Beauveria bassiana by genetic engineering with an exogenous tyrosinase gene

► Solar ultraviolet radiation affects Beauveria bassiana field performance. ► We engineered B. bassiana with an exogenous tyrosinase gene. ► The transformants produced an increased amount of yellowish pigments. ► The mutants thereby acquired significantly increased UV-resistant ability. ► The virulence of the transgenic isolate was also drastically increased.
