Gas permeation redox effect of binary iron oxide/cobalt oxide silica membranes

• Switchable permeance increase and decrease as the membrane was reduced and oxidised.
• He/CO2 permselectivity from 130 to 80 by switching from the first to third cycle.
• Redox cycles changed the FexCo1−xOy formation and silica membrane structure.
• He/CO2 permselectivity of decreased at a higher ratio after the oxidation cycle.
