Computing the Iwasawa decomposition of the classical Lie groups of noncompact type using the QR decomposition

In this article, we show how the QR decomposition can be used to compute the Iwasawa decomposition for all classical Lie groups of noncompact type. This approach can also be used for the exceptional Lie groups.
