Electrochemical degradation of ethidium bromide using boron-doped diamond electrode

► Boron-doped diamond was used to degrade ethidium bromide. ► EtBr degradation was greatly influenced by all the studied operating variables. ► Total removal of EtBr may be achieved at reasonable time and energy consumption. ► The elimination of organic nitrogen during the electrolysis was assessed.
