Removal of copper, zinc and nickel present in natural water containing Ca2+ and HCO3- ions by electrocoagulation

► Electrocoagulation (EC) experiments were performed using Fe and Al electrode. ► EC process was used for natural water of low conductivity polluted by heavy metal. ► No addition of supporting electrolytic salts was used. ► Excellent removal efficiencies and low energy consumption have been reached. ► The precipitation phenomena during EC have been investigated.
