Visible light active Ru-doped sodium niobate pervoskite decorated with platinum nanoparticles via surface capping

- Partial replacement of niobium by ruthenium created a perovskite-like structure.
- 1% Ru-doped niobates absorbed visible light markedly with a band gap of ∼2.3 eV.
