An examination of active sites on Au-Ag bimetallic catalysts based on CO oxidation over Au/Ag2O and a comparison to Ag-contaminated Au powder

The synergistic effect of Au-Ag catalysts was determined to originate from the formation of AgAu alloy sites where the co-adsorption of CO and O2 occurs, rather than from the interfaces between Au and AgOx regions.
