Reusable chiral macrocyclic Mn(III) salen complexes for enantioselective epoxidation of nonfunctionalized alkenes

► Solvent-dependent easy synthesis of macrocyclic Mn(III) salen complexes. ► Catalysis occurred at the interface of organic and aqueous layer. ► Pyridine-N-oxide can be used as an axial base during epoxidation reaction. ► Reusability for dimeric catalysts was achieved by fine tuning in their solubility. ► Kinetic investigation was carried out to suggest a probable mechanism.
