The modelling of water and hydrochloric acid extraction by tri-n-butyl phosphate

▸ A thermodynamic model for the extraction of HCl and water by TBP has been developed. ▸ This model predicts the extraction up to 16 molal HCl far exceeding previous models. ▸ This is important for acid recovery from pickle liquor. ▸ Detailed speciation of the extractant species was identified through modelling.
