Analysis of reactivity and energy efficiency of methane conversion through non thermal plasmas

▸ Atmospheric methane plasmas allow converting natural gas to higher value products. ▸ Methane plasma were modeled with a focus on kinetics and energy efficiency. ▸ The main kinetic pathways were identified. ▸ It was found that a high energy efficiency requires a high local gas temperature. ▸ Some criteria useful to improve the energy efficiency were proposed.
