A one dimensional solid oxide electrolyzer-fuel cell stack model and its application to the analysis of a high efficiency system for oxygen production

► We have developed a finite difference model of a SOFC-SOEC for oxygen production. ► Results are compared with those of a previous simplified lumped volume model. ► The resulting electricity consumption is in the range of 0.35-0.5 kW h/kgO2. ► The SOFC-SOEC system results an attractive option for small scale O2 production.
