Separation of the isomeric long-chain aldehydes dodecanal/2-methylundecanal via layer melt crystallization

► The solid-liquid-equilibrium of dodecanal and 2-methylundecanal was measured and modeled. ► Crystal growth and purities were measured in a lab-scale layer crystallizer. ► We show that isomeric aldehydes can be separated by melt crystallization. ► The crystal growth was modeled depending on the process conditions.
