- First synthesis of pure montmorillonite nanoclay (MMT) in single and two-step procedures in supercritical water.
- Effect of temperature, duration, and precursor aging was investigated on crystallinity and adsorption capacity of product.
- Two-step synthesis has a higher activity than single-step procedure.
- Aging is a key parameter, as one step synthesis of MMT from a fresh precursor was unsuccessful.
