Quantification of specific interactions between CO2 and the carbonyl group in polymers via ATR-FTIR measurements

▶ CO2 - carbonyl group interactions in polymers have been quantified using ATR-FTIR.▶ Changes in the carbonyl stretching band can be attributed to dielectric effects. ▶ The in-plane bending mode of CO2 provides good estimates of specific interactions. ▶ Our results are in good agreement with quantum calculations.
