In situ production of spherical aerogel microparticles

▶ Combining the sol-gel and emulsion processes allows production of microspherical aerogel. ▶ Nanoporous biocompatible microspherical particles with controllable PSD were produced. ▶ Microspherical nanoporous materials are highly desired for different industries. ▶ Extending this process to produce biodegradable nanoporous materials is possible.
