An experimental study of the influence of temperature on char separation in a moving granular bed

► The removal efficiency for char was sensitive to temperature. ► The separation efficiency decreases with increasing temperature. ► The char decompose at mid temperature (400 K) so as to release volatile substances. ► The increasing T enhanced the diffusion, decreased the inertial-collision effect. ► This reduces the weight and size of chars, which changes the separation mechanism.
