Low temperature nanocasting of hematite nanoparticles using mesoporous silica molds

► A simple route to synthesize α-Fe2O3 nanoparticles at low temperature is shown. ► The obtained particles have very small and narrow size distribution. ► The effect of the used molds in the particle size distribution is discussed.
