Characterization of the structure of TiB2/TiC composites prepared via mechanical alloying and subsequent pressureless sintering

►TiC formed within 18 h of milling, earlier than TiB2. ►The powders milled for 48 h consisted of nano-sized TiC and TiB2 particles. ►The target product sintered at 1750 °C had a relative uniform microstructure. ►The target product owned a series of excellent mechanical properties.
