An experimental study on a horizontal energy-saving pneumatic conveying system with soft fins

► A new pneumatic conveying system with soft fins is proposed for reducing power consumption and conveying velocity. ► The pressure drop and minimum and critical velocities are reduced by using soft fins. ► The maximum reduction rate of power consumption is about 25.5%. ► The effective of soft fins is quite evident with increasing the fin's length.
