An analytical expression for transient distribution of passive contaminant under steady flow field

► Accessibility indices are defined to quantify effect of various boundary conditions. ► An analytical expression is proposed based on the indices of accessibility. ► Validated by experiment, the proposed expression shows an acceptable accuracy. ► The expression can be applied in ventilation control for local environment.
